This book is a compilation of texts written over the course of twenty years. It encompasses various approaches to the art of dance, ranging from dance history and criticism to education. Additionally, it includes special features on influential dancers and choreographers. Given the breadth and diversity of the material, and for the reader’s ease of navigation, the book is divided into sections: a theoretical section, a historical section, and reviews of dance performances from a gender identity perspective, organized by genre and style. The texts have been subtly edited by the author, enriching the original content without altering its essence.
The second part of the book comprises interviews with Greek choreographers. Over the years, the author has conducted interviews with nearly all Greek choreographers, some of them multiple times. In such cases, she has curated the most compelling interviews for inclusion in the book.
